Prime Minister, Mr Duško Marković is in London today, attending the conference on citizenship. In front of several hundred participants from all around the world, Mr Marković presented Government’s achievements, our economic and political priorities.
“Economy in Montenegro has been recording impressive growth rates for three years in a row. Montenegro is an investment destination. Since we became NATO member, investments from Alliance members have grown by 64%. Total FDI inflow amounts to over €1,5 billion. Unemployment rate decreased by around 8%. Investment worth over €3 billion are underway”, said PM.
Mr Marković said that Montenegro’s tourism broke records.
“We’ve had 360.000 tourists for the nine months of 2019. That would be 1,35 million overnights more than in the same period last year. We’ll finish 2019 with over 2,5 million tourists”, stressed Mr Marković.
Mr Marković added that they wanted to stimulate new investment scheme, especially in tourism.
“Since 2006, Montenegro has reinforced its position of economically most developed country of the Western Balkans. Montenegro is a safe country, based on the unique multi-confessional and multi-ethnic harmony”, pointed out Mr Marković.
Agriculture and food production in the Northern part of Montenegro have been presented as a big chance for investors.
