Marković in Mojkovac: The pandemic didn’t stop development and investments

President of the Government of Montenegro, Mr Duško Marković, marked today start of works on the base station of the future Žarski ski center. Mr Marković visited several construction sites and stated that coronavirus pandemic couldn’t stop development and investments in Mojkovcac.

„I would like to inform residents of Mojkovac that we are currently investing €60 million in capital and public utility infrastructure”, PM said.

Future ski center – Žarski – 14 hotels with 7.000 beds

The location of the mountain center Žarski has been elaborated in details in the Spatial plan of special purpose and Detailed survey on the location Žarski, according to which Base settlement consists of a parking zone at the entrance of the settlement, zone with facilities of the central settlement with hotels, apartments, public amenities, zone and surfaces for starting point of ski lifts.

There will be around 7.000 beds in 14 hotels and in apartments and 3.629 beds in the very center of the settlement. Around 8000 skiers will be served, according to the Plan.

Plans are afoot for a six-seat cable car.

Roadway to Žarski, transfer station, footway…

Mr Marković saw the section of the Mojkovac- Vragodo road, part of the road to the fiture ski center and Jezerine – Lubnice regional road.

“First phase of works has been completed. More than €1 million has been spent on road breakthrough and construction of embankment and reinforced concrete walls”, the statement said.

PM expressed satisfaction with the construction of this road and said that people would be able to reach the ski center directly from Mojkovac.

“I also saw works on transfer station worth over €2 million. It’s a very important public utility project that will provide strong incentive to already beautiful Mojkovac. Footway will be one of the most beautiful public utility facilities I had the chance to see not only in MNE but wider”, Mr Marković said.

Business zone and Tourist Info center – places for new initiatives

Mr Marković finished his working visit to Mojkovac by visiting Business zone and Tourist point and said these places would be places of new initiatives important for the municipality.

In the next two years, the Municipality of Mojkovac will be one of the most beautiful places to live.

“We are fighting for workers in Mojkovac, we want them to love to work here, to enjoy and we want them to be happy to live in Mojkovac. That’s the strategy of our policy. Judging by what I saw today, that will happen definitely in the next two years. And, of course, not only in Mojkovac”, Mr Marković said.

As he said, the perspective of Mojkovac is very certain.
