Markovic: No compromise or privileged entities when it comes to paying taxes

Montenegrin government’s commitment to increase fiscal discipline has yielded results – tax collection increased by several million euros compared to last year and the plans for this. However there is also awareness among taxpayers that the state must be respected and that liabilities must be timely paid, prime minister Dusko Markovic and directors of Tax Administration Miomir M. Mugosa, Customs Administration Vladan Jokovic and Inspection Directorate Bozidar Vuksanovic agreed at a meeting.

“Markovic commended the administrations’ commitment to this goal and achieved results. He reiterated that, in the implementation of the efforts to direct every single euro of public money to the state budget, there would be no compromise or privileged entities,” the government stated.

Noting that higher level of coordination and cooperation has been achieved, the executives said they were making good contact with the business community that understood the efforts of the state and better responded to the legal obligations and the measures implemented by the authorities on the ground.

“Noting the strengthening of the authority of institutions, PM said that strict fiscal discipline was important because in this way the state became able to provide a better business environment, more jobs, especially of young people, better health care and education system, as well as more equitable social policy,” the government added.
