Montenegrin prime minister Dusko Markovic said in Parliament today that no one can play games with the state, and that there will be no peace for criminals as long as any individual or the state is threatened.
He said this responding to minority parties’ caucus representative’s question Adrian Vuksanovic (HGI), who asked what activities were being undertaken in order to improve the security, prevention and identifying criminal offenses, particularly those related to organised crime and other serious crimes as a result of criminal score-settling.
“Our message is clear – no one can play games with the state. This is my government’s commitment – there will be no peace for criminals as long as any individual or state is threatened. Maybe we lack financial resources, perhaps professional capacities, but we do not lack the will and determination to make Montenegro and every citizen safe. I want this to be heard by the citizens, but also by criminals who may intend to cause incidents in Montenegro and jeopardise our security,” Markovic said.
He called to mind that during his term of office, 4,550 persons of interest and 560 facilities were checked.
When it comes to the prevention of drug smuggling and drug abuse, 215 criminal offenses were revealed, and 224 persons were prosecuted by the competent prosecutor’s offices. During Markovic’s term of office, 3 tonnes and 167 kilograms of various drugs were seized.
