Prime Minister Dusko Markovic reported to the Agency for Prevention of Corruption (ASK) that he is performing six official functions in the Government of Montenegro, writes Dan daily.
His primary function is, of course, that of the Prime Minister, but in addition, he is also president of the Council for Privatization and Capital Investment, for tourism and for rule of law, and also at the head of the National Investment Commission. Markovic also serves as member of the Board of Montenegro’s accession to the European Union.
Mr. Markovic is receiving a government salary of 2.240 euros as prime minister. During 2016, he was vice-president in the government of Milo Djukanovic and his salary in January amounted to 1.097 euros, €1.105 in February, €1.563 in March, and from April to November, thanks to the implementation of the Law on Salaries in the public sector – €2.021.
The prime minister’s wife, Nata, is employed in the Agency for Telecommunications and her salary is 1.093 euros.
The Markovićs are owners and co-owners of four residential objects. Mr. Markovic owns an apartment (106 square meters) and a garage (14 sm) and has also inherited 25 percent of a 72-square meters house and its accompanying land of 25.882 square meters.
He is also co-owner of another plot of 10.630 square meters.
Mrs. Nata Marković owns a 61+40 sm house, a weekend home of 150 sm and some land. She is also the owner of a Ford Fiesta from 2005.
The Markovićs also have shares in CMC company which distributes petrol in Podgorica and Pljevlja, performs registration and technical services for cars and also builds residential buildings when partnered up with “Čelebić“ company.
Prime minister also reported he took out a loan of EUR 20.000 in 2012, which he is repaying in monthly installments of €380. He did not, however, allow the ASK to check his bank accounts.
The Agency announced it will continue to investigate all the reports from all government officials in order to minimize corruption.
