Mitigation of measures is clear indicator that epidemic in Montenegro is under control. Mr Marković points out that “potential, maturity, professionalism and decisiveness was demonstrated by healthcare workers, military, police, ministries, prosecutor’s office, administrations, local communities and their services”.
“Montenegro has done its best in countering coronavirus epidemic”, he pointed out.
The Government has undertaken all necessary activities and today, we have this result.
“I notice “politics retreated before profession” being used a lot. What does that mean? No! In this situation institutions had their place, not politics. The same institutions one part of the political stage has been trying to compromise and play down for years”, Mr Marković stresses.
When human health is jeopardized, it is logical healthcare system will play main role.
“There hasn’t been retreat, all institutions were on the front line, in accordance with their competences. I am very proud of the capabilities of institutions and the knowledge and skills of individuals”, Mr Marković said.
In his opinion, citizens have made significant contribution and pledged support for the institutions.
“Citizens are in the focus of everything we do. And they have demonstrated patience, patriotism and solidarity”, PM said.
Their role in this unprecedented crisis is crucial.
“Not just now, but in the future. Nothing will ever be the same in the world. Therefore, civil solidarity and innovations will be our capital for the future”, Mr Marković said.
First coronavirus case in Montenegro was confirmed on 17 March.
Montenegrin Government reacted before that happened.
So far, Montenegro has been successfully dealing with the epidemic and healthcare system is not burdened with patients.
