Former President of Parliament of Montenegro then left the Special Prosecution with his arms raised, cuffed, and sent regards to all his friends and enemies.
Commenting on Marović’s health after a month spent incarcerated, Begović said that his client “grew ten years older during one month”.
“Marović is now in a better condition”, Begović said.
As he said, he visits Marović in remand every other day.
He said that Marović is still alone in the room, but that he fights loneliness by reading books. Begović said that he always brings two or three books when visiting.
Second in command in the leading party DPS was arrested on December 17th of last year in Podgorica, in his apartment in Vektra building, under suspicions that he participated in financial fraud over residential and business space in shopping mall TQ Plaza and concert stage building on Jaz, as well as land selling in Prijevor. These cases cost Budva Municipality more than 20 million EUR.
Prolonged detention for Dragan Marović
Yesterday, Dragan Marović got his detention prolonged for a month. He is held under suspicion in cases Bulevar and Krapina. He was arrested on August 13th last year for his participation in suspicious business activities in construction of TQ Plaza and concert stage on Jaz. Dragan Marović was reales on February 13th, only to be arrested again once he stepped out the gates of remand jail ZIKS.
His leaving the gates was awaited by the journalists and inspectors of Department for Fight against Organized Crime, and they were the ones that arrested him again. While the inspectors were approaching him, Marović said “I knew it”.
According to unofficial sources, his arrest was ordered by Special Prosecutor Saša Čađenović who has reasonable doubts that he, along with his brother Svetozar and ten more Budva citizens, cost Budva’s budget for a few tens of millions of EUR in the cases Bulevar and Krapina.
