Mass Covid deaths in Montenegro, we have to stop this catastrophe together

Jevto Eraković

A further 15 people have died of the coronavirus since yesterday, a 25-year-old person the youngest to die of it. These are the alarming and worrying data, as the lives of people have been threatened. The public is afraid, healthcare bodies show no reaction so far and announce new measures as of 1 December. The question is: why didn’t they do it months ago? How many citizens should die for them to react?

In a statement for the CdM portal, a doctor, Vice President of the Democratic Party of Socialists, DPS, and former Director of the Clinical Center, Jevto Erakovic, warns – Montenegro doesn’t live with the coronavirus, it dies of it!

“This isn’t going to stop just like that. We have to stop this catastrophe together,” Mr Erakovic noted.

He also can’t believe that health authorities haven’t provided an adequate reaction so far, having in mind that the number of new cases exceeds 20% of tested people, that the epidemic is spreading at an alarming rate and that the total number of deaths is being compared with the biggest tragedies in the history of Montenegro.

He also reminds of the fact that the vaccination campaign and the implementation of covid rules is being run by the prime minister who hasn’t got a Covid jab yet and breaks those same rules every chance he gets!
