The President of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic, met in Rome with the President of the Republic of Italy, Sergio Mattarella. On that occasion, Mattarella told President Djukanovic that the proposal of the prime minister-designate is also important for bilateral relations. President Djukanovic was greeted by the Military Guard in front of the Quirinale Palace, followed by a conversation between the two presidents and two delegations.
President Djukanovic pointed out the belief that our region cannot become more stable and reach the European level of development without further accelerated integration, which is achieved through reforms, but also a stronger incentive from Brussels in which Italy could present the most convincing representative of WB interests.
“During the events in Ukraine, it is very important that we all together in Europe show determination and alliance in relation to this crisis in which the struggle for European values and European security is taking place”, said President Djukanovic, emphasizing Montenegro’s constant commitment to be a promoter of these values in the region and part of the civilization circle of modern Europe.
Mattarella personally expressed great satisfaction to host President Djukanovic in Rome, which is another confirmation of the great friendship between the two countries.
After the meeting with Mattarella, President Djukanovic left Rome for an official visit to San Marino.
