The leader of the Movement for Changes (PzP) Nebojsa Medojevic was questioned today in the Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) on charges of money laundering.
The hearing before the prosecutor Lidija Vukicevic lasted about an hour. At a press conference after the questioning, Medojevic said that the entire case was politically fabricated and that he did not want to answer the prosecutor’s questions.
“I said this was an absurd and fabricated process, and that SDT did not present any evidence. This is Milivoje Katnic’s personal revenge and he misuses the prosecutor’s office. These are the main things that I said at the hearing today,” Medojevic said.
Medojevic urged institutions to “stop the persecution”.
“I refused to answer the prosecutor’s questions, but I will answer everything before the court,” said Medojevic.
Medojevic’s defence attorney Drazen Medojevic said that the indictment against his client’s was absurd.
“Momir Vujisic is guilty of lending his money. Now the ball is in the High Court and SDT’s court. I just call on stopping the perfidious game,” Medojevic said.
At the end of June, the Montenegrin Parliament lifted Medojevic’s immunity upon SDT’s request. The MPs approved the initiation of criminal proceedings and the detention of members of the Democratic Front (DF) suspected of money laundering.
Medojevic is suspected of creating a criminal organisation aimed at committing money laundering and other criminal offenses.
