US Vice President Mike Pence arrived in Tallinn, Estonia, where he will meet the leaders of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. It is his first stop in his four day Europe tour.
After Tallinn, Pence will visit Montenegro and Georgia.
Today he will talk to the presidents of the three Baltic countries that are members of the European Union and NATO.
Pence told reporters that US President Donald Trump had sent him to Europe “to convey a very simple message – that America First does not mean America on its own”.
“Our message to the Baltic countries and my message during the visit Georgia and Montenegro will be the same: to our allies here in Eastern Europe – USA is on your side,” Pence told Fox News.
Pens met with Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas last night. They discussed the current Estonian presidency of the European Union, trade relations, security in cyberspace and tensions in the Baltic region, since both Russia and NATO intensified their military presence there.
