Residents of the settlement Konik in Podgorica are embittered. Migrants from the Near east and Africa are settling in their neighborhood and as they say, they are worried about their safety and more importantly, about the safety of their mothers, sisters, wives and daughters. As they say, a couple of days ago, migrants attacked a 15 year-old girl in front of the local shop and tried to drag her into the house where they stayed, but luckily residents who saw what was going on didn’t let that happen.
Journalists team from “Dan” visited Konik yesterday and saw big number of men in two houses where they are currently staying. Several minutes after they all went into their houses and closed the doors.
Semir Luković, resident of Konik, says that they had never had so many problems, until now. His car was burgled two times in the last couple of months but he never found out who had done that.
Some men, settled in houses for migrants walk naked on the terraces and talk to women and children in an inappropriate manner.
“We feel threatened and we really hope that this problem will be solved very soon”, says Semir Luković.
As one resident said, Konik has become “war zone of Syria and Afghanistan”.
