After 88 days spent in the Institute for the Enforcement of Criminal Sanctions (ZIKS), Milan Knežević President of the Democratic People’s Party and member of the Presidency of Democratic Front, came out of prison. He was sentenced to four months in prison because he attacked a police officer on October, 17 in 2015. Although he said many times that he wouldn’t go to prison voluntarily, he showed up in ZIKS on March, 20 anyway. He said he had changed his mind because he wanted to support the presidential campaign of Mladen Bojanić without any disturbances.

“Passing the first –instance verdict in November of 2017 and its lawfulness are, clearly, part of detailed and carefully planned activities of Milo Đukanović who wanted to win the presidential term of office no matter what and strengthen his power. During all this torture inflicted on Milan Knežević, there was a minimum of the solidarity shown by the opposition”, said the representatives of the Presidency of DF.

Today, after Knežević had been released from prison, the Presidency of DF held a session where they discussed the current political situation in Montenegro.
