Since their demands for the government reshuffle did not bear fruit, they were forced to cooperate with DPS. And that’s all normal because it’s politics.

Milatovic and DPS? Who would think that?
Of course, this title is a simplification of the very complex political situation in Podgorica. But if you think that in Montenegrin politics everyone doesn’t cooperate with everyone, doesn’t make calculations and directed performances, then you are naive. Volumes and volumes could be written about non-principled coalitions in Montenegro, both public and secret.
In the public domain, DPS still remains radioactive for cooperation and is used as a scarecrow. DPS as the “political wing of the Kavac clan”, as a party that should be “dismantled and banned” is an excellent resource for this government. That is why dehumanizing narratives are being pushed that keep the current young and uncompromising team in that party in political isolation. How long DPS will be in quarantine depends on several factors. The first is that the new team has not yet convinced the general public that the old compromised leadership is still not pulling all the strings behind the scenes. The second is because most of the media participates in a dehumanizing pursuit of anything that has anything to do with DPS.
Excuse me, not everything. There is still a narrative about the “healthy wing of DPS”. You saw the former DPS deputy leader on the front page of Vijesti.
Therefore, DPS is left with only that. To allow Zeljko Ivanovic to screen its staff and after a “deep check” to choose a new team, which will be able to enter the coalition with the authorities. The only question is which authorities. Because in that group of former grandiose coalitions of non-extremes (URA, PES and Democrats), only non-party member Jakov, weak Dritan and Boris Bogdanovic remained. Pipun, Dajko and Marko would be part of this truly democratic team according to Zeljko, if only they were not so loyal to the Serbian-Russian autocratic international political system.
Podgorica and the tacit cooperation between DPS and Milatovic’s councilors would be a good sign. It would be better if that cooperation were public. That would be a sign that there is no more morality in Montenegrin politics. Moralizing is a travesty of ethics. Trafficking in morality in public political discourse is a sign that society is seriously morally corrupt. And Montenegrin society is morally corrupt. Elections are the buying of votes in which the vote is the cheapest commodity. It is bought most often by employees in the state sector.
It would be much better for all of us to realize that we should not vote for good and honest people, because that’s how we buy a cat in a bag during elections. We should instead do everything to make our common interests politically profitable for decision-makers. Let’s just agree on what our common interests are. I am running for road infrastructure, a better market-oriented education system and a better market-oriented health system. It’s enough to start.
Whoever is able to deliver it to us, without trading Montenegrin independence and the little bit of sovereignty that belongs to us as citizens of Montenegro by the constitution, whoever does not antagonize anyone, not even Montenegrins who are not Serbs, has my vote and I can to cooperate with them.
Until such a rational approach to politics prevails among people and we keep on looking for a messiah and Tito who will employ us all, feed us all and provide for us all – until then, we can’t expect much.
