Montenegro’s President, Jakov Milatovic, criticized the agreement signed between Montenegro and the UAE, stating that it concerns key state interests and involves illegal business practices.
He called for a clear statement from the European Union regarding the agreement, particularly one concerning tourism and real estate development, which he considers controversial.
Milatovic pointed out that the agreement undermines Montenegro’s laws and its EU Association Stabilization Agreement, potentially jeopardizing the country’s EU membership. He also expressed concerns about possible criminal liability within the state administration for signing the agreement.
Milatovic emphasized the significant responsibility of the Montenegrin MPs, urging them to consider the legality of the agreement before voting.
