Following the meeting with the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic, who has been paying an official visit to Brussels, also met with the new EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos.
President Milatovic expressed satisfaction with the fact that the new enlargement commissioner was well-acquainted with the situation in the Western Balkans (WB).
The common goal is Montenegro soon to become the full EU members state, being the frontrunner in EU negotiations.
He also pointed out that Montenegro completely harmonized its foreign policy with the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy, adding that the support of citizens in terms of EU accession, accounting for about 80%, represented an example and incentive to the countries of the region.
Mr Milatovic underlined the need for continuous presence and close cooperation with the European Commission (EC) so that accession talks come to an end.
In the end, Ms Kos said Montenegro was the most advanced candidate country, adding that there was a realistic chance of visiting it by the end of the year.
