Businessman Vasilije Milickovic offered €20,000 to the most competent people in Montenegro, who publicly proved that his claim that the Election Law was not in compliance with the Constitution of Montenegro in the part referring to direct voting.
He illustrated the issue by a fictional election list of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) for the 2018 general elections in order to clarify the direct voting system.
“This list is compiled by the party leader Milo Djukanovic. He is also DPS list leader in the general elections. The order on the list is the following – at the first 16 positions are known people. However, there are also three new figures on this list – number 79 is Nikola Tesla, number 80 Albert Einstein, and 81 Vasilije Milickovic,” said Milickovic.
He said that the results of the election showed that Milo Djukanovic got 30,000 votes as the list leader, whereas Albert Einstein and Nikola Tesla got 100,000 votes each and Vasilije Milickovic got one vote as he voted for himself.
“This is evidence that Nikola Tesla and Albert Einstein brought almost all the votes to the DPS, but according to our current election law, they will not become MPs. Therefore, the will of the people is absolutely not taken into account. Article 2 of the Constitution is also completely violated – the two of them will not enter Parliament, so neither the government nor the assembly are constituted by the will of the people,” Milickovic said.
“This shows how rigid the Election Law is and how much it is contrary to the basic principles of the Constitution of Montenegro, especially Article 45. I would like the most competent people in Montenegro to prove me wrong. So I will be free to publicly offer them €20,000 to publicly say that this is not true,” said Milickovic.
