The order on the use of two military helicopters, which transported the priests of the Church of Serbia to Cetinje in the early morning of September 5, was issued by the Chief of General Staff General, Milutin Djurovic, upon the decision of Defense Minister Olivera Injac. This is clearly suggested in the text of the Order that Pobjeda daily had the insight into.
Referring to Article 40, paragraph seven, of the Law on the Army of Montenegro and the decision of the Minister of Defense, the Chief of the General Staff ordered the Air Force to use two Bell 412 EP/EPI helicopters on September 5, 2021, for transport and that all actions should be performed “in two raids”.
General Djurovic’s contribution is immeasurable for revealing what happened on the night of September 4-5, because the Order he signed shows who really led the action.
After ordering the Air Force of Montenegro to hire two military helicopters and informing about the arrival of civilians at the military airport in Podgorica, the Chief of the General Staff also informs who is running the action.
In point 1.5, he precisely says: “Coordinate activities with the contact person Rakonjac Milos”, citing the mobile phone of the Deputy Director of Montenegro’s National Police.
Although the transport of priests was only a part of the overall military-police action of “enthronement in Cetinje”, the appointment of Rakonjac as coordinator indicates that the first man of police, Zoran Brdjanin, was in a way – sidelined.
This information about the election of Rakonjac as the coordinator of the action and ignoring the position of Brdjanin significantly coincides with the version presented by Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic on September 6, the day after the turbulent events in Cetinje.
However, there’re still some details hiding behind the veil of secrecy.
