Minister Spajic preparing VAT increase?

Milojko Spajić

The plan of the Government of Montenegro to increase the minimum wage does not cease to intrigue the public, and there are more and more people who doubt its sustainability. The first reactions are on the abolition of health contributions, without precise indicators of how the state will compensate those funds and provide health insurance to all citizens of Montenegro.

In addition, the economy is in trouble, especially small and medium enterprises, and their professional associations are already beginning to express skepticism that the plan is sustainable and that it would enable the smooth functioning of this part of the economy.

The Marshall Plan envisages a series of measures that further endanger the standard of living of citizens, increase of excise duties on certain products, introduction of new ones, fuel labeling, progressive taxation, etc.
