Miranović on Podgorica lockdown: Everything’s possible, it depends on citizens’ behavior

Miranović

On a possible Podgorica lockdown aiming to curb the spread of the coronavirus, assistant health minister, Vesna Miranović, says they everything’s up to the citizens.

“We are considering all possible scenarios and want to give a chance to citizens to realize the seriousness of the situation while living the ‘new normal’. Inspections will be on the field constantly and if we see that their efforts are fruitless, then everything’s crystal clear,” told Ms Miranović, speaking in the morning show of the public broadcaster, TVCG.

Montenegro’s healthcare system was ready to respond to challenges, she was adamant.

“However, our aim is not to test the sustainability of our healthcare system and show the people that it can respond to all these challenges. We all have to make an effort and avoid the worst-case scenario.”

In order to achieve this, a synergy between citizens and the healthcare system is needed, she added, as well as of all the other actors that contribute to it [healthcare system].
