The information of MONSTAT has been accessed in a significant data breach in mid-November last year and even though they were hiding it for some time, in the end researchers found out about it. MONSTAT tried to hide hacking, hoping they would be able to get back data without help of cyber security experts, Pobjeda daily writes.
The database was hacked a month and a half ago, and all data has been locked and inaccessible until further notice – the security sector, whose teams have been trying to restore services, has confirmed for Pobjeda.
Allegedly, hackers requested money in return for unlocking data. Still, no official confirmation about the mentioned cyber attack has been given by MONSTAT.
