Ministry of Justice has sent a request to the General Prosecutor’s Office of Russia, asking for information on the process of extradition of Montenegrin citizen Ananije Nino Nikic, who is suspected of having taken part in the logistics of attempted terrorist attacks on the day of parliamentary elections on October 16th last year, it was stated to Pobjeda daily from the Ministry.
Ananije Nikic, official translator in DF, was arrested on April 2nd in Rostov region, after which his was put in extradition remand. After several months, Russian authorities suspended the remand on the condition that Nikic regularly reported to the authorities.
Nikic is charged with criminal act of creating a criminal organization.
He spiked investigators’ interests after former Serbian intelligence officer Slavko Nikic claimed that Ananije Nikic offered him to be one of the key members of the organization that was “set to cause chaos in Montenegro”.
According to the information of Montenegrin investigators, Nikic left Montenegro on November 9th last year, and media wrote that he was in Russia. Special Prosecutor’s Office brought charges against 14 suspects after 6 months, and the process against Nikic was separated.
Special Prosecutor’s Office charge includes two Russian citizens, Eduard Shishmakov and Vladimir Popov; Serbian citizens Milos Jovanovic, Nemanja Ristic, Predrag Bogicevic, Bratislav Dikic, Kristina Hristic, Branka Milic, Milan Dusic, Dragan Maksic, Srboljub Djordjevic; three Montenegrin citizens, leaders of DF Andrija Mandic and Milan Knezevic, and Mihailo Cadjenovic, official DF driver.
According to the charge, two Russian intelligence officers Shishmakov and Popov were heads of the organization. They are charged with forming groups in Montenegro, Serbia and Russia, with a goal of “several acts of terrorism” and “murder of the highest representatives of Montenegro”.
SPC guaranteed for Maksic, Djordjevic and Dusic
Serbian Orthodox Church gave guarantees for suspension of remand for Dragan Maksic, Srboljub Djordjevic and Milan Dusic, it was unofficially confirmed to Pobjeda daily.
SPC also guaranteed for Branka Milic, who was released from Spuz on October 11th this year.
The court decision followed the request of her attorney Jugoslav Krpovic, who present the SPC guarantees that claimed she would have accommodation in the Monastery Uspenje presvete Bogorodice Duga in Bioce.
