Montenegrin healthcare system makes the biggest progress in Europe

The Montenegrin healthcare system has made the biggest progress in Europe in 2017, the chairman of the Health Consumer Powerhouse and the European Health Consumer Index researcher, Dr Arne Bjornberg, says.

“Montenegro has made concrete steps in the implementation of reforms in the past period. Having in mind that the 2017 Report will be published in January next year, I cannot tell you exact Montenegro’s ranking, but what I can tell you is that it has made the biggest leap among all ranked countries, and that its position in the Report will be much higher than 30th place,” explained Bjornberg calling to mind that the country ranked 34 in the previous report.

He says that Montenegro has made progress thanks to the introduction of electronic services and the shortening of the waiting list.

Bjornberg also points out that the reduction in mortality rate from cardiovascular and neurological diseases was recorded in 2017.
