Montenegrin military intelligence head resigns

Acting Managing Director of the Directorate of Intelligence and Security in the Ministry of Defense, Aleksandar Šaranović, has resigned, several sources confirmed unofficially for CdM. However, no one has still confirmed this information officially.

Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić nominated Mr Šaranović as the acting director in the Ministry of Defense in late January. He succeeded Mr Miljan Perović who used to run this directorate until December last year.

He [Mr Šaranović] became known after the decision to appoint Major Radule Čović as his closest associate. Recall, Major Čović was accused of misusing office in the Army of Montenegro while he was in NATO headquarter in Poland.
