Montenegrin soldiers arrived in Afghanistan

Members of the XI contingent of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, 27 of them, arrived in Afghanistan.

As Ministry of defense reported, Chief of General staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, Brigadier General Dragutin Dakić  wished soldiers successful fulfillment of tasks and honorable return.

“A very demanding task is ahead of you. I expect you to keep up the image of a Montenegrin soldier in the international community and live up to it, while understanding differences and respecting the customs of others”, pointed out Brigadier General.

Family support is of great importance in such situations.

Commander of the XI contingent, Mr Danko Kovačević, says that soldiers have gone through six-month training session. He pointed out that it was a firm military group, characterized by stable mutual relations and trust.

“The one thing I can say for sure is that every member of the contingent will fulfill his duties professionally and consistently, promoting values of our army coming from patriotism, military tradition and moral heritage”, said Captain Kovačević.

Members of XI contingent will stay in the “Decisive support” mission for six months.
