At yesterday’s cabinet meeting, the Government adopted the Information on the valorization of the waters of the Bilecko Lake hydro-accumulation facility. The Information points out the need to determine the rights of Montenegro after 57 years of multipurpose use of the waters of the cross-border river Trebisnjica by Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serb Republic and Croatia, and to adequately protect and valorize those rights. It is estimated that Montenegro has an area of about 40% of the Bileca Lake basin, as well as 24% of the total volume of the reservoir.

Montenegro, they point out, has hydropower potential in the Trebisnjica hydropower system, which is fully used by other countries (at the same time it has an electricity deficit).
