NGO ‘Montenegro International’ urges Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Dritan Abazović, to explain to the public why Mr Dejan Vukšić has been named as the head of the National Security Agency, and say what happened with his promise that his party, the Civic Movement URA, is going to take over the sectors of defense, security and internal affairs.
Montenegro International reminds that Mr Abazović told he wouldn’t allow people who worked against Montenegro’s sovereignty to run the aforementioned sectors, and that he was going to defend the interests and sovereignty of Montenegro in every moment and every situation.
“Is the nomination of the leader of the Kotor electoral roll that also includes people convicted of the coup attempt, for the head of the ANB, in line with the interests of Montenegro? Is Montenegro safe in hands of this militant Serb? Are Montenegrins protected if being guarded by someone who believes that Montenegrins do not exist or should not exist? Are the national interests preserved if being “guarded” by a man who sends a message from the top of Africa that he’s going to preserve “Serbian shrines” in the state of Montenegro, a man who’s the leader of the pro-Serbian coalition? Is that your non-party and impartial man? Is that why sovereignists voted for you? We urge you to make a public statement and give an explanation,” this NGO noted.
They also emphasize that the URA MPs and its voters are mostly Montenegrin patriots and that they certainly did not vote for the hegemony and power of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro, as well as for the subjugation of Montenegro to Serbia.
On the amendments to the religious freedom law, suggesting that the Serbian Orthodox Church will be a privileged religious community in MNE, they say: “According to the amended law, the SOC won’t have to register on the territory of Montenegro and will keep the property that King Alexander confiscated from Montenegro by the decree after 1918, and all the SOC property will de facto belong to the state of Serbia.”
They also urge Mr Abazović to tell who’s the owner of the land where the Temple of Christ’s Resurrection was built and where religious processions used to take place.
“Did you vote for it? Tell us, give us your explanation – are Montenegrins who don’t want the SOC, don’t consider it their church, don’t want to enter its temples, discriminated? Do they have the right to have their place for praying, funerals and wedding ceremonies?”
