Data delivered to “Dan” by Dr. Sreten Simović, Manager of the Center for Traffic and Mechanical Expertise, show that Montenegro is a country which records almost the highest number of car accident victims.

“Taking into account data on the number of deaths caused by car accidents in Montenegro, one can notice that there are victims of different ages. This is not encouraging at all and the only way to eliminate this is the stimulation of the factors which are important for the safety in traffic. Individuals, competent authorities and organizations should all put effort into improving the conditions of traffic safety in every segment”, said Professor Simović.

He added that specific roads in Montenegro must be reconstructed and analyzed. Also, he notes that roads lack signalization about the characteristics of the road and the conditions on it.

“When the safety is endangered, we must find the cause of danger on every road, every location,  and then take the measures to eliminate the cause”, said Simović.

Simović added that accidents also happen in the locations which cannot be qualified as „dangerous“.

“We all make mistakes, either as drivers or pedestrians. We do some things without thinking about the sanctions and even those “small” mistakes we make can generate conditions which can cause unpleasant and dangerous situations in traffic”, said Simović.

By strictly respecting the law we are getting closer to the objective we want to achieve, adds Simović. The law defines the way an individual must behave in traffic and, therefore, it must not be violated.
