Montenegro has achieved success in accession negotiations with EU, it was said during the meeting of Minister of European Affairs Aleksandar Andrija Pejovic and Ambassador of Switzerland to Montenegro Philippe Guex.
Pejovic introduced Guex to progress achieved so far, adding that progress is not only measured by 26 open chapters but also development of EU standards.
“He informed Guex of reforms in rule of law and economy, as well as plans and activities that are being taken in opening other chapters”, it was stated in Ministry.
Guex congratulated Pejovic on his position and his success in leading accession negotiations.
“He underlined leadership role of Montenegro in EU integration process”, Ministry said.
They discussed situation in EU and current affairs that could affect expansion policy.
“They concluded that current challenges should not reflect on accession processes, and that it is of utmost importance that candidate countries continue reforms that will improve life standard of their citizens”, Ministry stated.
