Gross domestic product (GDP) in 2023, according to MONSTAT’s final data, amounted to €6.9bn and grew at a real rate of 6.3%, according to the August Macroeconomic Report by the Ministry of Finance.

Namely, “the Montenegrin economy grew by 3.4% in the first two quarters of 2024, with the largest contribution to growth coming from private consumption (6.5 percentage points). In the second quarter, GDP growth of 2.7% was achieved, and the highest growth was recorded by gross investments in fixed assets (11.7%)”, according to the Ministry.

In the first 7 months of 2024, the number of overnight stays by domestic and foreign guests in tourism industry was 8,572,717 and a decrease of 5.4% was registered.

“When it comes to foreign guests, the largest number of overnight stays were made by tourists from Serbia (22.9%), Russia (19.8%), Bosnia and Herzegovina (7.9%) and Turkey (5.3%)”, The Report points out.

The annual inflation rate in August was at the lowest level since April 2021 and amounted to 2.2%.
