Director of the Institute for Public Health, Dr Boban Mugoša, said at the NCB press conference today that “they are not hiding data”, reacting to the text published in Dan which stated that Institute for Public Health “is hiding accurate data on the number of infections”.
“I was very surprised. I am sorry that “Dan” didn’t ask us directly about the cooperation with WHO and exchange of data. The headline was really inappropriate. We addressed to the WHO and its heads, checked what we had sent and I see we had sent accurate data. We are not hiding data and it’s impossible to hide anything in MNE”, Dr Mugoša pointed out.
“Please pay attention. We are building the work on trust and you could get any data you want, provided that it’s not about patients. I insist that we work together and that you support us. The infection wants us to understand each other”, Dr Mugoša said.
188 hospital patients
Director of the Clinical Center of Montenegro, Dr Jevto Eraković, said at the press conference today that there are 188 hospital COID-19 patients.
“Clinical Center has admitted 25 patients, five of whom are in the Intensive care unit. One patient is on mechanical ventilation and three are on non-invasive ventilation. Thirty-three patients are in the hospital in Bar, one is in critical condition. Hospital in Berane has 63COVID-19 and six are displaying severe symptoms. Thirty one patients are hospitalized in Nikšić, 22 in Brezovik, 22 in Codra, 2 in Pljevlja and 8 in Rožaje”, Dr Eraković said.
Clinical Center is functioning without problems in all non-COVID-19 segments.
It all depends on us
Dr Mugoša said that they had extended the work of hospitality facilities for another two hours because they had noticed young people hanging out outside the controlled area.
Doctor pointed out that only responsible adherence to measures can curb the spread of the infection.
“It all depends on us”, Dr Mugoša said.
Musicians are allowed to work
Dr Mugoša said that musicians had been allowed to work and earn for living.
“But they are also required to adhere to measures. Owners of facilities need to make sure that there’s no dancing while the music is playing and that all other measures are properly put in place”, Dr Mugoša said.
Asked if they could wear N95 masks that arrived from China while treating COVID-19 patients, Dr Mugoša said that some companies defined their equipment as protective while others defined it as medical.
“One can conclude if it protects from pathogens by looking at the specification. N95 masks are made to protect from pathogens”, Dr Mugoša said.
Three healthy patients on ventilators
Dr Eraković pointed out that the virus “has characteristics that are unknown to experts around the world”.
“It’s unpredictable. We have had a very wide range of patients who had to be put on ventilator. We had three completely healthy patients. And we should also make difference between mechanical and non-invasive ventilation. Patients treated with non-invasive mode had much better experience in this second wave”, Dr Eraković explained.
