NATO membership provides Montenegrin companies with the access to vast defence market. So far 89 original Montenegrin products have received NATO National Stock Number (NSN), whereas 119 companies have received NATO Commercial And Governmental Entities (NCAGE) code, the head of the Directorate for Standardisation and Codification of the Ministry of Defence, Colonel Marinko Aleksic told Pobjeda.
He said that the NCS code system was designed and standardised for the defence of NATO members and their partners.
“To appear in this database means to be qualified for defence and to be invited as a supplier, to be invited to public and confidential tenders,” said Aleksic.
He added that codification was also a requirement for a company aspiring to be registered into the database of potential suppliers of NATO commands and agencies, such as the NATO Support Agency and supply – NSPA and the NATO Agency for Communication and Information – NCIA.
