Reserve requirements in the end of July amounted to €178.8 million, suggest the data of the Central Bank of Montenegro.
Of this amount, 51.2% has been earmarked in the country, while 48.8% on the CBM’s accounts abroad.
“The average balance of total bank deposits in June, which form the basis for the calculation of reserve requirements, was €3.29 billion,” the CBM told.
Banks in Montenegro have allocated a reserve requirement based on the decision of the CBM. From January 2018, the basis for calculation of reserve requirements consists of time deposits and demand deposits, except for those of central banks.
