Nine requests for solar power plants received

Following the entry into force of the 2016 Energy Law, the Ministry of Economy has received nine requests for constructing solar power plants, this Ministry clarified for Dnevne Novine daily.

The remaining three requests referred to the reconstruction of two and construction of one small hydro power plant.

“Following the entry into force of the new Energy Law and based on 12 submitted requests, the Ministry defined the plan for granting energy permits for 2018, which envisages issuance of energy permits for the construction of solar power plants, reconstruction and construction of a small hydro power plant on a hydraulic system,” the Ministry of Economy stated.

The first solar power plant in Montenegro (in Briska Gora, Ulcinj) is to be built by the consortium consisting of the Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG), the Fortum (Finland’s company) and the company Sterling & Wilson.
