Some state prosecutors will be dismissed by the end of May this year at the latest, Dan daily has learned.
They’ll be dismissed by the decision of the new prosecutorial council, on the initiative of the Parliament of Montenegro. It’s a novelty envisaged by the proposal for prosecutorial laws, which have been aligned with the recommendations of the European Commission and the Venice Commission. Moreover, the proposal suggests that a new prosecutorial council, which will be authorized to appoint and dismiss prosecutors, may be set up.
The parliamentary majority backed the proposal and it’ll be forwarded to the parliament in the following days.
