Opposition leaders fell short

Pens

There was no congress of opposition with Mike Pence that would serve to “conspire” to destroy legal and legitimate Montenegrin rulership, as it could have been gathered from press releases of opposition parties. In reality, they had a 15 minute long briefing during which Pence invited them to return to the Parliament, Dnevne Novine daily writes.

The meeting was unannounced, and it did run longer than expected – it was supposed to last 7 minutes. Lekic, Becic, Krivokapic, Abazovic and Pavicevic waited for 40 minutes to meet Pence.

However, after the meeting, they elaborated on their political observations based on gossiping the state and its leaders.

White House promptly released a short and clear explanation:

“Pence invited the opposition to stop the boycott of the Parliament. He reiterated the importance of cooperation in reforms, that would lead to a safer and more prosperous future for Montenegrin citizens”.

Opposition attempted to turn this meeting in their favor, but their international credibility crumbled.

In addition, DF was upset that their opposition colleagues met Pence in the first place. DF said they only take orders from their people, not US or Russian embassies, which, as we know, is another opposition lie.
