Over 90,000 tourists visited Podgorica, a record number

According to data of the Statistical Office of Montenegro (MONSTAT) and Podgorica Tourism Organization, over 90,000 tourists visited the capital of Montenegro during the first seven months of the year, which is by about 30% higher compared to the same period last year.

Nina Pajović, a representative of the Podgorica Tourism Organization, has said there have been more than 143 overnights, which is by 20% higher compared to the previous year.

“In 2017, international tourist arrivals grew by a remarkable and record-breaking 40% and this year’s tourism results are even better. The results are pretty encouraging,” said Pajović.

The main current reasons for increased tourist arrivals in the capital, according to her, are intensified promotional activities in the region, opening of the new accommodation capacities, high-end hotels/restaurants, urban amenities in the city for residents and tourists as well, various events and intensified cooperation between the Podgorica Tourism Organization and the representatives of tourism industry.
