Popular for its semantics and great potential for global popularity, Montenegrin domain was first recognized in 2006 and has been rising in demand of the worldwide internet community.
Ministry adds they are very happy with their registration agent, the doMEn company, whose development program put Montenegro in touch with Internet giants such as Facebook, Yahoo, WordPress, Universal Pictures, Google, The New York Times, AliBaba, Naver and others.
Ministry said a new version of Facebook Messenger, which will incorporate another .ME domain, is expected to be launched soon.
“The state budget, at the end of the fourth quarter last year, profited 20 million euros from the completed registration service. But besides the financial benefit, this promoted Montenegro in a way that “.ME” domain names became ambassadors of our country in the world”, stated from the Ministry for Information Society and Telecommunications.
As part of the program for celebrating the 10 years jubilee of restoration of independence, the Ministry and its registration Agent are organizing an international conference to be held in Budva on May 13-15, 2016.
