President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović organized a lunch for the Secretary of State of Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who is in his official visit to Montenegro. Cardinal Parolin hopes that Đukanović will soon have the opportunity to visit Holy See.
Đukanović said that Montenegro was honored to welcome a representative of Holy See for the first time. He expressed deep respect that Montenegro has for the moral and spiritual role that the Holy See has in its mission of solving open questions at the global scene. He especially emphasized the role of the Pope Francis in the preservation of peace, stability and protection of human rights.
The President thanked Cardinal for the readiness of the Holy See to share the richness of its archives with Montenegro. The Cardinal spoke with respect about the long tradition of our relations and about the harmony of differences which is actually the main strength of Montenegro.
In this long, friendly and open conversation, Đukanović and Parolin exchanged opinions about many different topics both in the European context and on the global level .
