Pavicevic has to go to prison: House arrest denied

Former Bar mayor Zarko Pavicevic will have to serve his prison sentence, since his request for house arrest has been denied. The house arrest possibility is valid for up to six month prison sentences. However, Pavicevic has to stay in prison for six months and five days.

“I have been denied house arrest because of the sentence length. As soon as I get the call, I will go to serve the sentence,” Pavicevic told Dan.

The former Bar mayor did not appeal against the court judgement sentencing him to one year in prison over abuse of office in the construction of apartments for the needs of employees in the state administration thus costing the municipal budget €1,780,240. Pavicevic has already spent half a year in remand prison, so he has to serve slightly more than half of the sentence.
