If the opposition continues to boycott Parliament, it will block the improvement of the electoral system, bearing in mind that a qualified majority is needed for certain changes, said the deputy prime minister and minister of justice Zoran Pazin.
Pazin said that it was a politically absurd that the opposition, who constantly presents sharp objections to the quality and democratic character of the electoral process, does not show a minimum of readiness to participate when it is given the opportunity to improve the legislation with the direct support of the ODIHR.
He called to mind that that the representatives of executive and legislative power, as well as international institutions had repeatedly called on the opposition to return to democratic institutions.
Pazin said that with the establishment of the Working Group offered another concrete opportunity to the opposition to contribute to improving the electoral process, with the direct participation of ODIHR experts.
