Officials of Democratic Montenegro (Democrats) that were Serbian nationals at the time of their election in Montenegro continuously refuse to give a concrete answer in this matter, Dnevne Novine daily reports.
The situation now concerns MP Mijomir Pejovic as well. This situation is not only a legal matter, but it includes political and moral aspects as well – these people have, in full awareness, cheated on their institutions, voters and public.
Democrats refuse to comment and answer whether Pejovic and Jokic were indeed Serbian nationals at the time of their election.
DPS is also looking for this answer. Their MP Danijel Zivkovic sent a request to public institutions asking that they determine which of Democrats officials took Serbian citizenship starting with 2006.
He also demands that the conditions under which their Serbian citizenship was revoked be investigated.
Mijomir Pejovic was unavailable yesterday, and made no comments. He is probably trying to buy time waiting for a confirmation that he is not a Serbian citizen. Jokic did the same – he showed a confirmation from Serbian Ministry of Interior ten days after the information of his dual citizenship leaked, implying that he broke the Constitution, Law on Election of MPs and Law on Montenegrin Citizenship.
One thing is for certain – the case of Vladimir Jokic will be completed and the truth will be revealed to the public, DPS MP Zivkovic said.
