The Ministry of Transport has sought construction permits for the Krkor, Suvovar, and Mistic bridges, and the Verusa loop on the priority section of the Bar – Boljare highway.
All structures will be located in the Duska-Lijeva Rijeka cadastral municipality in Podgorica.
The construction of the 41-kilometre priority section began 11 May 2015, the date marking the start of a four-year deadline for the Chinese contractor.
The highway construction will cost the state €809m, $944m of which is being financed by the Chinese Exim Bank through a 20-year loan carrying 2% interest and a 6-year grace period. The design and build contract was signed with the Chinese companies China Road and Bridge Corporation and China Communications Construction Company.
The government expects all €194m in the capital budget to be spent this year.
The Ministry of Transport earlier announced all remaining permits are expected to be issued by this June.
The structures that are to be built on the highway priority section include 16 tunnels (more than 17km in total length), 13 bridges (about 13km length), five viaducts and four loops in Smokovac, Pelev Brijeg, Verusa and Matesevo.
