Prime Minister Duško Marković met with Mr. David Margason, Managing Director of Porto Montenegro, and expressed his satisfaction with development plans for this uber-popular tourist destination.
“This is a project that has changed and continues to change Montenegro, helping eradicate the narrow-minded philosophies and showing us how our country can look, how it can increase its value for the well-being of its citizens”, the PM said.
The plans presented to him included construction of sports facilities, supermarkets, venues for large sports and music events, extension of the main promenade, construction of several accommodation and catering facilities, etc. All of these would of course be followed by job opportunities.
Mr. Margason said Porto Montenegro is happy to report excellent sale of tourism capacities, adding the company is willing to talk about putting the hinterland of Porto Montenegro in the spotlight as well.
PM Markovic and Mr. Margason agreed speedy valorization of the shipyard in Bijela is crucial for completing Porto Montenegro’s offer as a company that could also service 50-60 megayachts a year, adding the plan would be to hire local shipbuilding experts.
