Outgoing PM Dritan Abazovic agreed last week, at a meeting with confidential people from URA, that two or three days before the local elections, the police in Podgorica arrest several members and activists of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), which they hope would achieve two goals – reduce damage to their party, which has been seriously shaken after the exposure of the state tobacco smuggling network and, as they believe, demotivate at least part of the voters to vote for the pro-European coalition in the capital, writes today’s Pobjeda, referring to sources from URA.

“Abazovic is outraged by the action to expose state tobacco smuggling, about which he had no prior information. After the arrest of URA official Rade Milosevic, under pressure from the party, he was forced to demand that he resign from the position of director of the Revenue and Customs Administration”, sources from URA have told Pobjeda.
