Podgorica citizen shocked: Temporary registration not valid in Montenegro

Podgorica citizen V.V. was shocked when he was stopped by the traffic police who issued him a misdemeanor warrant due to temporary registration for his car.

“I have driven through half of Europe, and had no issues? But Montenegrin police said that European rules don’t work here!”, V.V. was aghast.

He drove through Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Hungary and Serbia an met no issues. His documents and temporary registration were valid in all these countries.

Police directorate told Pobjeda daily that the officers issued a warrant due to unregistered car.

“They acted on laws in force in our country”, they stated.

V.V. asked for this case to be brought on trial, so he will get a chance to prove his statements.
