Defence Minister Predrag Boskovic and the current Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) Curtis Scaparrotti officially opened the Podgorica Street to the NATO headquarters in Mons. The street has been named after Montenegro as a new member of the alliance.

Boskovic believes that NATO membership for Montenegro represents the achievement of one of the two primary foreign policy objectives, but also an additional commitment in the implementation of the alliance’s agenda.

General Scaparrotti emphasised the importance of Montenegro’s membership in NATO in the area of strengthening the security and stability of the Western Balkans. He expressed confidence that other countries in the region would follow the path of Montenegro and become part of the Euro-Atlantic community.
