Now is the time for Montenegro to redouble its efforts and gather all pro-European forces, make progress in necessary reforms and enable the country to progress on the road to EU integration, said Head of the EU Delegation to Montenegro, Ambassador Oana Cristina Popa.
She points out that it’s very important for the countries of the region to harmonize with the EU sanctions against Russian propaganda tools, adding that the “implementation of restrictive measures is the responsibility of national authorities” and that they “expect their full implementation by the Montenegrin government”.
On the current political situation in Montenegro, Ms Popa “calls on all political parties to stay focused and cooperate among each other with the aim of achieving progress in the reforms from the European agenda, in the spirit of constructiveness and in the interest of Montenegrin people. Formation of the government is the responsibility of political actors and institutions in Montenegro itself, in line with the constitutional and legal framework of Montenegro. We believe this is going to happen with no unnecessary delays”.
