The Democrats performed the classic, cheap “hold me, I’ll beat him up” act. They fell into hysteria, their typical village melodrama and all kinds of the worst kitsch.
They threatened to collapse the tavern, that is, the Government; threatened their relatives with “the strongest in the city” and criminal charges, including the one against the prime minister of the government they are part of. And then they returned to the table, that is, to their positions, as if nothing had happened.
No one roars like a coward – because he tries to hide his weakness with his shouting. The Democrats act like those guys who try it – if it works, great; if not, because you slap them, they continue as if nothing happened. Until the next opportunity.
There is a famous scene in, I think, the first of the series of films about Indiana Jones, which perfectly describes the conflict between Spajic and the Democrats over the security sector. I won’t tell you about it, take a look. Spajic is Indiana, the Democrats are a dangerous fencer.
Out of the whole story about how criminal charges were filed at the cabinet meeting, what remained was Saranovic’s statement that only the Administrative Court can decide on disputed decisions. Therefore, there are no criminal acts.
Spajic is waiting for the Democrats to leave the government. https://www.cdm.me/politika/spajic-nema-nikakve-politicke-nestabilnosti-pitanje-je-za-demokrate-dali-ce-izaci-iz-vlade/. But the Democrats, for the sake of the good of Montenegro and its bright European future, are ready to continue to slouch in jackets and positions three sizes smaller.
By the way: does anyone understand the fashion style of the Democrats? It looks slum chic; as a variant of heroine chic embodied by Kate Moss, so everything skinny, everything small – but made for fat people. Who talked these people into wearing jackets that they can’t button and can’t bend their arms in? What they are wearing looks like something left over from their older brother, but their mother forgot where she left it, and only found it when they outgrew it.
I do not mention their fashion style (only) out of malice. I know what they want to say with that kind of dressing. These people try to create a gap, a discontinuity between what they were and what they supposedly are now, by the way they dress. They are the children of SNP, the Stalinist-Milosevic anti-modern party of people dressed in oversized, ugly suits of cheerless colours. The problem is not that some wore suits that were too big, and others, in order to be as different as possible from the first ones, wore suits that were too small. The problem is that they are indistinguishable. And they confirmed that every time important decisions were made in Montenegro. Democrats always end up playing for the side their political fathers played for.
Even the birds on the branch; no: even the worms in the trees in Podgorica’s parks know what is currently happening in Montenegro; they know that today Podgorica is like Casablanca, networked with countless Services and the interests they represent. We’ll see what happens in the end.
But one thing is certain: if the goal is for Montenegro to remain on the pro-Western path, every defeat of the Democrats is a step in the right direction.
