Snow fell earlier than expected this year and caused problems for people who live in the north of the country, particularly farmers. Numerous villages that were hit by the snow storm stayed without power supply.
Cattlemen on the mountains suffered a lot of damage caused by the unexpected snow. Some of them were bereaved in the snow so the Civil Protection and Rescue Service had to intervene.
Numerous orchards were destroyed as well. The Biogradska Gora national park has been closed for visits, as broken trees blocked the road leading to the park.
